As made-to-measure furniture becomes increasingly popular, John Beavan Cabinetmakers continue to provide a full and comprehensive service, offering a wide-range of expertise.

Quite simply, if you can think of it then we can make it happen for you. All you have to do is ask.

Almost Unlimited Options…

Our professionals, as you would expect, have many years of experience in the industry; as such, the work they carry out is never less than beautiful, with our commissions having as much in common with fine art as with furniture. And that work doesn’t only mean cabinetmaking; as well as offering a professional spraying and finishing service, our team are equally versed in employing a number of precision crafts – including gilding, silver-leafing, and using many materials other than wood. Things like copper and bronze (as well anything else you’ve seen or heard of) can be brought in on demand, meaning that almost nothing is impossible. In other words, the sky’s the limit.

Everyone Is Welcome

While it’s true that we take on expansive refurbishments for hotels and other large corporations, that doesn’t mean we can’t help you if your order is only a set of chairs or a table for the living-room. The same goes for our consultation: at John Beavan Cabinetmakers we provide a personal service, irrelevant of the amount of work to be undertaken. The customer always comes first. Pleasing one person is as important to our business as pleasing many.

Pre-commissioning

Perhaps you already know exactly what you want your piece of unique bespoke furniture to look like: the type of wood you’d like to use; the exact style, so it fits in with your existing décor perfectly and looks like it’s always been there. Or maybe you have a very good idea of what you’d like but aren’t absolutely sure yet…something is missing but you can’t say what. Either way, we make the process simple, stress-free and pleasurable from start to finish, assisting you at every stage along the way, making sure that none of the fine details are missed out. The end result will be a piece of furniture that is a complete one-off. Something for you to treasure that will last for generations.

How The Commissioning Process Works

Commissioning a piece of bespoke furniture may seem daunting, but it is actually very simple. The first step sees our cabinet-makers working closely with you to create a design you are 100% happy with – or, should you already have a design, we’ll consult at length with you to make sure we get the most out of it. The second stage is the making; and to be certain that everything is going as you planned, we’ll update you at each important stage, allowing you to see the progress for yourself. Finally comes the all-important polishing, where numerous options are available to suit every taste, however grand; either we can polish the piece to accurately match a piece of furniture you already own, or, using a number of specialist techniques – ranging from antiquated to the finest high-glass lacquered finishes – we can create the perfect finish you had in mind.

Our dedication to making only the best bespoke furniture is reflected in both the very personal service we pride ourselves on providing at all times, and the fact that much of our work comes from repeat clients.
