Special Projects - A collection of Regency pieces

A collection of Regency pieces were made in the manner of the originals as follows:

Egyptian style occasional table

An Egyptian style occasional table with a Rosewood veneered top decorated with an Ormolu gallery standing on a hand turned, carved and water-gilded column.

Tented Bedroom

Inside a tented bedroom is the mahogany le bateau bed with gilded ribbons wrapping around the bed head and base. The tenting is gathered up to an ebonised and gilded convex mirror with gilt brass stars on the ceiling.

Marble-topped radiator case

A marble-topped radiator case in cast iron with Ormolu mounts.

Whatnots

A pair of Whatnots made in solid Rosewood with Ormolu mounts and Carrara marble tops, French polished to a soft Regency patination.

Curtain boxes

These curtain boxes are made in timber and ebonised with gilded fluting to the top cornice and carved flower decorations.

Window seat

This window seat is constructed in ebonised timber with gilded buttons, paw feet and shells to the knees and a hand stitched seat pad incorporating a Greek Key detail to the edge.

Window seat

The painted window seat is the same design as the ebonised one yet has a lighter feel.

Henry Holland Chairs

A pair of Henry Holland Chairs in the V&A Museum in London was copied to make a similar pair, this time in parcel gilded rosewood as opposed to the originals which are in parcel gilt and painted.

Thomas Chippendale’s Chair

Kind permission was granted to view and measure an original chair made by Thomas Chippendale’s son in Stourhead, Wiltshire, so that this copy could be drawn and made for a client.

Rosewood occational table

An occational table made in solid Rosewood with Ormolu mounts and old stock plumb mahogany top, French polished to a soft Regency patination.

Sofa and Chairs

A classic sofa, chairs and footstools in the Regency manner made in solid Rosewood with Ormolu mounts and French polished to a soft Regency patination.

Winter Olympics

By special commission we were requested to make the furniture for the 2006 Winter Olympics at Turin consisting of a range of tables, chairs and other pieces, all painted in either black or white.
